Felt Up

DD turned 5. So, I guess she can teach herself to sew now. Yeah, it was a surprise to me too. Here's what happens when you give a 5 year old a needle, thread, felt, glue, and sequins. (And no blood!)

collage with kiddo

To make this type of collage, I drew a vase and stems on construction paper. The kiddo then used glue to apply flower shaped punch outs. She LOVED it and had me draw MANY vases and stems. It looked so fun, I had to try it too. Here's mine:

Painting

The kiddo and I painted rocks yesterday. She wants a design from the book http://www.linwellford.com/painting_kids.html on one, so I explained we would paint the backgrounds first and add details on another day. Here are the rocks she painted.















After we had painted all the rocks, she began mixing the leftover paint in yogurt containers. Then she gave me a sweet and wonderful handmade gift.








"Mommy, I made a color for you." I think she liked that I used it right away.

Shaker

The kiddo and I made a shaker. We took an old powdered beverage container, put beans in it, and sealed the lid with glue and packing tape. DD then decorated it with glue, paper, marker, and foam stickers.
